More work on the kitchen
This cabinet if you remember was missing a door. I had contemplated just making a curtain here, but decided to build a door instead. I used the old base of the seat for the small dinette and cut it 3/4 of an inch wider than the opening of the cabinet. I then used the leftovers to make the trim around the edges. I originally had a piece of beadboard that I wanted to use, but it was so thick it did not look right, so I scrapped that idea. I've been trying to use that little piece of beadboard everywhere and haven't found a home for it yet. After I get this cut and painted, I realize I do not have any hinges. So, I go poking around in my "discard" pile and find the door to the old bathroom. There wasn't much of it to begin with, but it did have 3 hinges barely hanging on! Score!
The only thing missing now is a knob. I have quite a few of the original knobs left, but several are broken. I still need at least 5 to finish the upper cabinets.
I had to use the Alabama tag I found hanging in my barn when we bought our house. It's an 80's model like the camper. The drawers are still a little wonky, I think the tracks need adjusting. I also haven't put the latches in them that will hold them shut while the camper is moving down the road.
I came across this faucet while checking out a yard sale. Still new in box, $3. It's just a cheapo Wal-Mart one, but still saved me a few bucks. It's not fully installed yet, I still have to make a run for plumbing supplies. I just marked the middle of the sink and the middle of the counter from window to sink edges, and drilled two holes. I had two flexible hoses that I got out of a damaged camper that fit, but I still need a few other fittings that I don't have.
